Update from the Challenge Team
January 3, 2011
“Happy New Year to all our customers and we hope that 2011 is as successful to everyone as they would wish it to be.
The doom and gloom surrounding the economy has also hit dog food and raw materials were increased to us back in August 2010. As we had already given our assurances that we would not increase our dog food until January 2011 at the earliest we absorbed these extra costs. However we are having to increase our dog food in line with the VAT increase coming in on the 4th January.
The core ingredients used in our food have increased in costs significantly over the last few months with oils, fats and meats all experiencing double digit rises percentage wise. Also energy costs have increased which has had a bearing on production costs. These extra costs will be passed onto us on February 1st so we will have no option but to increase the cost of our dog food again on February 1st.
On the bright side we will be introducing at the same time our own “Breeders Club” where we will be offering 20kg breeder bags at special rates. More details about our Breeders Club will be posted soon but if you wish to kept informed then please email us with your contact details.
We will also be introducing puppy packs for breeders to enable the new owners to have a sample of our puppy food so they can continue to feed their puppy the food he/she has been weaned on. Once again details will be posted soon on this but do please email us with your contact details if you wish to be notified directly when these will be ready.
The Challenge Dog Food team will also be attending some of the Championship shows this coming season. Once we have finalised which shows we will be attending we will be circulating the list of shows. We will be offering special “show offers” on orders taken at the shows, our own UK produced fish treats and new fish treats and of course the range of Tuffie Toys and other related dog products. All of our products will soon be listed within our “on line shop” so we will be able to ship these items direct to your home.
Finally a repeated plea for owners/exhibitors/breeder to send us your photos (winning, puppy and dogs just being dogs photos) and details of wins. Not only do we like to include photos of our customers’ dogs on our website but it also helps us to have photos to hand when we re-start our advertising in the dog press.

I have just reared a litter on Challenge dog food, the results were very good, coats are gleaming, and they eat the puppy food with gusto!, I could send a few photo’s of the litter if required. Jackie
This food was recommended by a friend to try and I have been using Challenge dog food along with your fish treats for just over a month I am delighted with the results in my Cocker Spaniels. They just love the treats, their coats have improved and I have managed to control their weight, which was a problem before.I would gladly recommend to anyone to try.
I would be intersested in hereing about your breeders club as I have four vizsla’s to feed.

Any news or further plans re your breeder club? Like others im having difficulty accepting the new prices going up in such a short while, a breeder club might help with being able to continue to use your wonderful food.
I’d be grateful for information on your planned Breeder’s Club (eligibility etc).
Many thanks,
